whoahhh! i just realized that FLStudio 7 has been released for several weeks already! but it’ll definitely eat up more resources than its predecessors so i think i’ll pass on this one, for now.

So now you’ve got your own drum track. You can proceed to record guitars with it, but a band still needs a bassist. Even though a bassist of a band is often overlooked in the entertainment world, his/her roles are very important. Bassists provide the low frequency that ties the groove of the drums and the rythm of the guitars. A band without a guitarist sounds better compared to a band without a bassist, you know.

Loading the samples
First, go to File>Templates and click on ‘Realistic’. That should load the default template for the drum kit. If there are no ‘Realistic’ template listed, you have to start with an empty template and load the individual samples yourself.

In these tutorials, I will use Fruityloops Studio Producer Edition 4.52. I will use only samples that are bundled with the application, so no additional files need to be downloaded to your PC. If you use a different version of Fruityloops, don’t despair. Most of the basic functions and samples are the same, so there shouldn’t be a problem. The help feature (Help>Contents) in FL is very good, so READ IT! But if you’re like me who dive into things without going over the instructions, read on.
