About Me
I’m a great procrastinator in my late 20s. Happily married with a lovely daughter. Living in sunny (and rainy) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Spent most of my early teenage life at a boarding school in the backwaters of Perak. Late teen years were spent partying around KL and were partly responsible for screwing up my studies. After several disastrous stints at colleges in Malaysia, I went to the University Of Hertfordshire in UK to study Business Information Systems.
Now I’m working as a computer systems engineer, dealing mostly with airport IT management systems.
I’m somewhat a hermit in front of the computer. I got interested in the life of geekdom ever since my dad brought home a brand-spanking new PC with a 12 MHz 286 processor, and a whopping 640K RAM. From then on, computers have become a part of my appendages. How I could find a girlfriend and got married while being a hermit geek, I will never know. Probably fate has a hand.
The nickname modar was given to me in school by seniors who saw my collection of metal audio cassettes, and a particular one of the Modar, a local Doom Metal band. I didn’t like the nickname, but when the seniors kept calling me modar, it got stuck until today. I thought I could shake off the name after school, but as my various circles of friends converge, it became my official name. I’d say about 50 – 60% of my friends don’t know my real name.
